Not Our Hair Accessory of Choice

Everything was all fun and games until my someone got hurt......

Memorial Day 2013

You were skipping by the pool and fell just a bit too close to the hot tub. You had fewer tears than your momma. You told the nurse that if I could be brave, then you could be brave and we'd all be brave together. Never thought I could be so proud in a situation like this, but you have a spirit to be admired, baby girl. You had this whole thing under control.....took deep breaths, squeezed my hand tight. All this while watching your ear being sutured in the reflection of the Child Life Specialists IPad instead of watching the Dora episode she was playing for you. As long as I was honest with you and there were no surprises you were able to relax and even fell asleep (it was after 9pm, not due to concussive injury!) before they came in to do the "string band-aids" (at term that totally got the side-eye from you). You trusted me even though I felt like it was my fault, even though I had emphasized "walking feet" when we got there. It was no one's fault...you skipped and had a misstep, total accident! See, I'm still trying to reassure myself. I just am overwhelmed by the faith you had in Daddy and I - even if you were scared, you still felt safe. I hope you carry this ability with you always, especially in knowing that even when we are fearful, there is still security to be had in our Faith.

Notice this rainbow popsicle, you even mentioned to the nurse that you had a bow to match it. You are correct....
